About My Sake World - Only in Kyoto -
Create your own sake(original sake) and enjoy a casual tasting experience.
This is a sake blending experience facility with two locations in Kyoto—one in Karasuma Oike and the other in Shijo Kawaramachi. Through tasting sessions led by staff and guided by their expertise, you can discover your preferred flavor profile and create your very own original sake by blending several varieties. You can take your finished “My Sake” home with you on the same day*.
*Our staff will bottle your order in the "Brewery Room" located in the building next to the tasting facility. / Same-day pickup is available only at our Kyoto Kawaramachi store. / Orders placed at the Oike Annex will be mailed to you at a later date. / We do not ship internationally.

Step 01 Tutorial

Our expert staff will provide an easy-to-understand explanation of the basics of sake.
Step 02 Tasting session

You’ll learn to recognize the characteristics of different drinks and discover your favorite flavors.
Step 03 Blending session
Adjusting the flavor through Blending (You can two rounds of prototyping)
I’ll start blending the sake I’ve selected. This is my first step as a sake blender.
Step 04 You can get a souvenir bottle
Your very own "My Sake" is now ready
After trying two prototypes, we’ll use the recipe you prefer.Simply add your blender’s name, the name of the drink, and other details to complete it. It’s also perfect for creating memories with your spouse or partner.
*At our Kyoto Kawaramachi store, you can pick up your order on the same day. Orders from the Oike Annex will be shipped to your home at a later date.

Buy Sake
The sake used during the tasting is also available for purchase by the bottle. We carry [HEAVENSAKE], which is exclusive to this location in Kyoto, as well as the blended sake [Assemblage Club]. We welcome customers who visit solely to make a purchase.
One Coin Tasting
You can sample most of the brands we carry. Each tasting is 500 yen. (*HEAVENSAKE is 1,000 yen per glass.) Customers appreciate being able to sample before purchasing, as it gives them peace of mind.
Sake Tasting Course
Each location offers guided sake tasting courses. You can learn about the differences in flavor while experiencing the culture and history, and discover the sake that suits your taste. The sake used in the tasting is also available for purchase by the bottle.

My Sake World Kyoto Kawaramachi is conveniently located within walking distance of Shijo Kiyamachi—Kyoto’s most vibrant shopping district—and Kiyomizu-dera Temple. Our spacious venue, which can accommodate up to 30 guests, offers a relaxed atmosphere. This is the perfect spot for SAKE experience.Seated and standing experiences are available. It’s also a popular choice for couples looking to create lasting memories.This Shop is suitable for groups of up to 30 people. It is frequently used for MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) events and incentive tours.

At My Sake World Kawaramachi, we can accommodate group reservations for up to 30 guests per session. We can accommodate even larger groups by staggering session times, and we also offer on-site experiences at other venues throughout Kyoto. Please feel free to contact us to discuss your budget, group size, and desired duration. We have experience hosting MICE events and have successfully organized on-site events in Tokyo for groups of up to 80 people.

One-of-a-kind "My Sake"
You are about to embark on a new taste journey here in Kyoto. It is said that the current methods of sake brewing were established around 400 years ago during the Edo period. And its existence is said to date back more than 2000 years. The culture of sake, deeply intertwined with Japanese culture and spirituality, can still be seen in the lives of Japanese people today. In 2024, "Traditional Japanese Sake Brewing" was registered as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage. Drinking sake is a cultural experience and a way to understand the Japanese spirit.
